Lizzie's Ouchie!

I took the kids to the doc on Friday. Liz and Tanner were scheduled for flu shots. So, pack them all up and head that way. I wasn't sure if he would give Liz her sbot, b/c she had a pretty bad cough, but who knows, he might.

So, we're headed in to the office and right before we walk in the building, Liz bites it...on the concrete. I saw her fall and then heard her head bounce off!!! Yowie! We get her picked up and into the actual office. She's hit her forhead right at her hairline - right smack in the middle. And she skinned up her nose! The nurse gave us an ice pack the we held on her head until right before we were called in. He declined to give her the shot b/c if she had a reaction (vomitting)- we couldn't be sure if it was from the shot or the smack on the head. She's been perfectly fine since the fall! She's pretty tough!

Tanner took his shot like a champ. He's not had any issues of crankiness or anything! Yipee....

Here's Liz's battle wound!

An unwanted assignment

If at all possible, I always try to do what is asked of me. Why not?? Isn't that what we're called to do? This usually isn't hard for me. I admit, sometimes with children it's a little tougher thus the "if at all possible" disclaimer.

This is one of the few times that I really don't want to do something - and at the same time, know I must.

How do you tell a young mother that she must gain control of her anger? How do you do this and not make matters worse (for her family)? This, unfortunately, is what I must do. Why do I get to do this? I'm the one that's seen it. I'm the one that witnessed two incidents that disturb me - greatly. I hate that it had to be me that saw them, yet I'm so glad that I did.

"G" is a young mother of two. No. 1 was completely unplanned and was probably unwanted. Also the child has numerous health issues and has recently been unofficially diagnosed with yet something else. G is struggling. Her frustration level is as high as it goes and she is unequipped to handle it. To be honest, she needs general parenting classes. But she also needs help much more focused than that.

Please pray for me that God gives me the right words with the right spirit so that she'll be receptive to what I have to say and open to the help that I want to help her find. I have a gut feeling that it won't go well, but I won't hesitate to sacrifice our friendship for the safety of her children. Pray for G.

Time for an update...

It's been a while, so I thought I would try to give a brief update:

Hunter - doing great at preschool! He still just LOVES it and often talks about his friends: Jake Jack-In-The-Box, Madison Motorcycle, Leah Lighthouse, Josh Jack-O-Lantern, Matison Moon and there are many more, these are just the few that I recall! OH - he's Hunter Helicopter! He just had a dentist appt. last week that he did great at. Hopefully only one more and that will take care of all of them.

Lizzie - oh what can I say about our little lady? She's a monster! LOL She's doing great...back to no potty training. She just lost interest and since she's not even quite two and a half, we're not pushing anything! She'll get there! She's going "Number2" in the toilet, just not "Number1"! She's out growing all of her clothes. Today she's wearing some jeans that are too short for Hunter - they fit her perfectly! UGH!

Tanner - poor baby. He's a teething fool! He officially has 6 teeth and it appears that he's working on two more. He's been extremely fussy the past day or so. I'm about to lose my sanity! He just had his 6 month check up - well, he was 6 months, 3 weeks. He weighed 21lbs, 4 oz and is 28 and 1/4 inches long. He's in pretty much all 12 month sized clothes - with just a couple of 6-9 month outfits fitting him. He's "combo-crawling" - real/lunge/combat. He's almost sitting up from a crawl position - he's done it once using my leg as leverage.

They are all doing very well. We're getting Tanner's pics made soon - hopefully! And I'd like to get the three kids made after that.

Ok, done with my chatter....

I didn't sign up for..

KP duty.

So, Jeremy gets his deer - yipee, more deer meat that will be made into jerky. So, tonight he's grinding the meat - nothing like seeing raw meat covering your kitchen table - as I'm enjoying the kids sleeping and watching one of my favorites (Without A Trace - it was really good tonight!).

He says to me: why don't you come on over and get started on the clean up. HUH???? I didn't ask for him to grind up meat tonight and make a huge mess. And I sure as heck didn't volunteer to clean up!!! But - you know me (well, ok, most of you don't, but you'll learn) - I dutifully started cleaning up the big grinder that he started with (and decided wasn't working). GROSS!

Just wanted to share my woes!

OH THE ABSOLUTE JOY!!!

There's nothing like giving all three kids a bath...it was so cute - even got a couple of pictures (and managed to keep them G-rated!!). They were having so much fun!! Tanner was splashing away and the kids were just cackling at him!! I love watching all three kids interact like that!!!

What I DON'T love is hearing..."(insert farting sound)" from daughter and just KNOWING it wasn't *just* air...and IT WASN'T!!!! - oh and *******TMI!!******* it w'ernt firm!!!!

So, we let all the water out, Big Kids stood up (Tanner was in his seat - STILL splashing away!), rinsed them off with the shower head, soaped them up and rinsed again...then cleaned Tanner up. Of course, Liz SAT DOWN again - and had to clean up her butt and legs again!!

Now it wasn't a TON of poop, but enough to totally gross all of us out - well, except Liz who seemed to be proud of herself! - oh and Tanner who was oblivious!

YUCK!!!

Let me add..........

oh yeah - the in-laws will be here Friday....................................'nuff said.
